Community guidelines

The rules every community on Pingkar lives by. Communities can add stricter rules of their own; they cannot remove these. Last updated 8 October 2026.

The short version

Treat people the way you would in a room with them. Argue with ideas, not with the person. Keep what is private, private. If you would not want it attached to your name, do not post it.

Not allowed anywhere

  • Harassment and bullying: targeting a person with insults, threats, unwanted contact, or pile-ons, including organising them.
  • Hate: attacking people for who they are, such as caste, religion, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexuality, disability, or age.
  • Violence and threats: threatening, wishing for, or glorifying violence against anyone, or instructions for carrying it out.
  • Sexual content involving minors: zero tolerance. Content is removed, the account is suspended, and we report to the authorities where the law requires it.
  • Adult sexual content: not permitted on Pingkar, including in private tabs and direct messages.
  • Doxxing: sharing someone's phone number, address, documents, or other private details without their consent.
  • Scams and fraud: OTP or password requests, fake giveaways, investment schemes, impersonating support staff or a brand.
  • Spam: repetitive posting, unsolicited promotion, link farms, and bots that are not registered through the bot API.
  • Self-harm promotion: encouraging or instructing self-harm or eating disorders. Talking about your own struggle is allowed; we may show support resources alongside it.
  • Illegal goods and activity: selling weapons, drugs, or stolen data, or coordinating anything that is a crime where you are.

Community rules on top

Owners and admins set rules for their own community and each tab. Those rules are shown before you post and are fed to the same moderation check as these guidelines. Breaking a community rule can get you muted, kicked, or banned from that community by its moderators, even when nothing here was broken.

How moderation works

Every post, reply, and message is checked before it is published. Clear violations are held and you are told why. Borderline content may publish with a note for the moderators. Images and video frames are checked too. Community moderators and Pingkar staff can remove content and act on accounts; every such action is written to an audit log that is kept for one year.

What happens when a rule is broken

Most first offences are a removal or a warning. Repeat offences in the same community escalate to a mute, then a ban from that community. Severe content leads to an account suspension right away. Three removals in thirty days are reviewed by Pingkar staff. Suspensions always have an end date, and permanent bans are reserved for the most serious categories above.

Appeals

If your post was removed or your account suspended, you can appeal once from the notice you received. A reviewer who was not involved in the original decision looks at it within seven days. If the appeal succeeds, the content is restored or the suspension lifted and nothing stays on your record.

Reporting

Use Report on any post, reply, message, profile, or community. Reports are confidential; the person you report is never told who reported them. Reporting in bad faith to silence someone is itself a violation.
